2018 Jill Blakeman Award
A former president of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides noted, “As a guide, Jim is without parallel. His knowledge and expertise in dealing with groups has been chronicled many times by his clients…all his groups of which I am familiar give him their very highest marks.
Mr. Carr is eminently qualified for this high award based not only for his outstanding and lengthy service to the Guild but his extraordinary guiding skills. Since becoming a member of the Guild in 2001, he has achieved the status of Guild Certified Master Guide. He is a recipient of the Guild Service Award, and has served several years on the Guild Board of Directors as co-chair of the Certified Master Guide Program. Jim works constantly to find and share information valuable to guides and to research and offer programs to advance our knowledge and skills. He works tirelessly to mentor and assist new guides. He is always available to help with Guild efforts both externally and internally.”
Master Guide
Meet Jim Carr
Prior to being a Certified Master Guide, Jim served as a reserve officer on Active Duty in various operations. He is the recipient of more than 25 U.S. military awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star and two awards of the Legion of Merit.
